This is really a competitively priced jacket. Waxed jackets ain't cheap, some are over £300. The Kuhl one looks 'Kuhl', is very well made and is a great fit. I'm 6'4" and a slim build and the medium fits me perfectly. Has plenty of room to layer up if needed, but still looks great with just a t-shirt. I reckon I'll buy another in a different colour later it's that good.

So I wasn’t going to pay the £400 plus it takes to get the original Flint and Tinder jackets that have become so popular and iconic and which in the last 4 months have gone from US $298 plus shipping and tax to over £600. Nevermind the risk with shipping from the US and questions about sizing.

So the best alternative I could find in the UK is the Kuhl Outlaw. I wanted the grain which was always out of stock so went for the coffee. I’m very happy, it’s very stylish, well fitting and well cut. I’ve only worn it for less than 10 hours as it came in the summer but one of the studs from the sleeve cuff has already come off. Though I’m gutted it’s thankfully the least conspicuous place to lose a stud. It’d be great if Kuhl saw this and sent me another stud and fastener. I’m 6 foot 2 112kg 50 inch chest and the xxl fits perfectly. It’s good for rain showers but haven’t tested it beyond that but have no fears about keeping dry in heavy rain. You get the premium style you’d get with a decent leather without the fear of damaging or having to take care of it. I’ve just bought another today. I grab my kuhl every time over my leathers and I’m still only wearing a tee shirt under it and it’s already nearly November. Just go for it you won’t regret it and it gets better the more you wear it. Highly recommended. It’s my favourite jacket of all time.

I've had this jacket now for about three weeks. I love it. Now it's starting to be worn in, the whole jacket just improves with ageing. Unlike a normal denim jacket, the wax coating makes it shower proof. Nicely lined and easy wear. I can see me having it until it starts falling apart. If it was sold in more colours I'd buy another.
